Connecticut Screen Works® has built insect screening systems since 1991, from single porches to the PNC Tower. Every panel is custom manufactured to your specification. Nothing is held in stock, and there are no standard sizes.
01What we do
There is no consumer version and no contract version. The same extruded aluminium frame, built to the same tolerances, goes onto a deck in Wallingford and into a tower in Pittsburgh. What changes is the specification around it.
The majority of what leaves the shop goes onto a house. Screen Wall panels suit porches, decks, balconies and patios where the owner wants a frame that will outlast the structure. Simplicity® covers the lighter end: insert-style porch and deck work, and odd shapes.

Commercial work arrives as a specification and leaves as a submittal package. Restaurants, athletic complexes, casinos and civic buildings have all been screened with the same panel system, in stock or custom finishes, at whatever size the opening demands.
Industrial installations are where the load testing earns its keep. Panels are tested to 135 MPH wind load, 400 lb static load to the frame and 44 lb static load to the screen, in the lab and in-house, on real assemblies.
The system is a frame and an infill, so it goes places a porch screen never would. The product page names exhaust vents, RF cages and concession stands; the rest tends to arrive as a drawing nobody has built before.
02How we do it
Most quotes that cannot be answered fail at step one. Panel sizes depend entirely on how the panel will be mounted, so the mount is decided before anything is measured, not after.
This is the step everyone wants to skip. Panel sizes cannot be calculated until the installation method is settled, because each method measures differently. Pick the mount, then measure.
Six documented methods, plus your own.
DetailSeven standard layouts cover most openings. Because every panel is built to order you can move or add divider bars freely, or supply a full custom drawing, viewed from the outside looking inward.
Layouts 1-7, or Models 1-1 through 1-4 for walls.
DetailEvery order is quoted; nothing is priced from a list. The RFQ has to be complete: sizes in inch and fraction, finish, divider bar positions, hardware. No assumptions are made and nothing is added that was not asked for.
Incomplete requests cannot be quoted.
DetailNothing is held in stock and there are no standard sizes in inventory. Panels are cut, assembled, screened and finished against the dimensions on your order.

Every panel is built to order, so a standard layout is a starting point, not a constraint. Move a divider bar, add one, or send a drawing. Repeat a layout inside one master frame and it becomes a Screen Wall.

Commercial grade
A patented panel and wall system in extruded aluminium. Virtually unbreakable, tested to 135 MPH wind load, and priced accordingly, this is not a home center bargain product.
Entry grade
A roll-formed 7/16" × 1" frame for insert-style porch, patio and deck work. Good value, easy DIY assembly with basic tools, and very adaptable to triangles, trapezoids and odd shapes.

Budget a minimum of $100.00 to $150.00 per running foot. Your actual cost may be far higher, or lower, based on final layout, sizes and options ordered. Because of the variation in options and designs, every order is quoted individually; there is no price list.
No. All panels and walls are custom manufactured for your order. Nothing is held in stock and there are no standard sizes in inventory, which is why a complete specification is required before anything can be quoted.
You must first decide how you intend to install the panels, because each installation method has different measuring and sizing instructions. Review the installation methods, choose one, then measure. Sizes are submitted in inch and fraction format only, as width by height.
White and bronze commercial powder coat are stocked, Tiger Drylac Series 49/11340 and Series 38/60060 respectively. Mill, meaning unfinished aluminium, is available for customers applying their own finish. Full RAL spectrum powder coating, colour-matched Kynar paint in two or three coats, and Class I and II anodizing are all available on a custom per-order basis.
Screen Wall System® panels and walls carry a 30 year limited warranty; Simplicity® inserts carry a 1 year limited warranty. In both cases we repair or replace, at our discretion, any part found to have a manufacturing defect during that period under normal application and service. Neither warranty covers damage, labour, misapplication, incorrect installation, screen or hardware. Read the full warranty documents for details.
